A qualified social worker for 30 years, Fiona has gained significant experience as a supervisor / mentor / coach. Fiona is skilled in developing and maintaining partnership connections working towards a shared goal of improved outcomes for children, individuals, families and communities, whilst growing the strengths and capacities of the supervisee.
Fiona is very experienced at developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including with Government, Non government and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. Trained in Strengths Based Supervision, Fiona utilises this within her framework for supervision, striving to build productive relationships with supervisees, encouraging and motivating them to critically reflect upon their personal and professional values and the implications for practice. With a well-developed understanding of conflict resolution strategies, Fiona values diversity, multiple viewpoints and different working styles and is comfortable with competing views. Fiona challenges constructively, demonstrating the ability to stand by a perspective when challenged, however acknowledging that interactions are an opportunity for learning, growth and change.
Fiona has significant senior leadership experience [including as a Regional Executive Director] with the Department of Communities in Western Australia [for 15 years in the Kimberley] and previously via senior leadership positions within Community Service Organisations in Victoria.
